The CFLA coaches talk a lot about how we are forever in pursuit of professional development. If we don’t talk about it with you members directly, we most definitely talk about it among ourselves and in meetings. In fact, Kenny requires that we are enrolled in some sort of professional development course or workshop at least twice a year. I went to my CrossFit L2 cert a couple months back and as I mentioned in a previous post, I’m currently enrolled in Kelly Starrett’s master mobility and movement course. Being present take a lot practice as most things do. Until you’ve fully experienced being present, you might not know what you’re missing. I’m sure a lot of you practice it and I bet some of you have experienced being fully present because the moment you are in is just so wonderful that there is no other option. Often spending time with loved ones, taking in nature or enjoying an amazing meal are times people are fully present. [ 340 more words ] http://crossfitla.com/being-present/

A few years ago, before I knew what Pose running was, I read a book called The Chi of Running. This philosophy of running was the first to spark the tiniest of interest to improve my running — though the actual practice of getting better didn’t manifest until years later. When I did start to practice, I had more coaching but in the Pose method. [ 688 more words ] http://crossfitla.com/chi-running-vs-pose-running/

Blog post by Coach Jamie Silber Each year I try not to put too mush pressure on myself by creating a list of resolutions. I know from experience when I abruptly decide to NOT do something, those commitments are often thrown and fleeting. Rather, I try to focus on my current behaviors and patterns that are simply not working for me and resolve to either modify of find a better solution. While this is not the last blog post of the year, it is my final post of 2016. I’d like to use this opportunity to say thank you for the work you put in at the gym all year. The dedication and investment that you show in your own fitness makes my job as a coach insanely fulfilling. Much love, Chip. [ 42 more words ] http://crossfitla.com/blog-ya-next-year/
